Richard P. Washut, DDS
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Richard Washut grew up in Wenatchee before attending the University of Oregon. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biology, he spent four years at the University of Washington School of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He moved to Selah 30 years ago to serve the patients of this community, and he cherishes the relationships established over the years.
Dr. Washut’s commitment to his patients started long before he formally entered dentistry. As a second-generation dentist, he assisted his father in the office and saw the difference that quality dentistry made in their lives. That legacy continues today, and his greatest reward is still helping patients discover the benefits of lifetime dental wellness. As a lifetime learner, Dr. Washut is passionate about new technologies and materials that enhance the patient experience. He regularly interacts with other general dentists and specialists as a long-time member of the Yakima Valley Prosthodontic Study Club.
Dr. Washut and his wife, Ann Marie, have two sons. Dr. Kyle Washut joined him in the practice in 2017, and Andrew is working as an engineering here in the valley. He spent many hours coaching their football, basketball, and baseball teams as his sons grew up. Now he finds a little more time to enjoy the vast outdoors in the Yakima region. When Dr. Washut isn’t caring for patients, you might find him hiking, mountain biking, snow skiing, or grilling in the backyard.
