As a third-generation dentist, succeeding my grandfather Richard G. Washut and father Richard P. Washut, I witnessed firsthand the importance and impact a dentist can have on someone's life. That inspired me to not only continue a legacy of providing compassionate care within my community, but also to keep making advancements in dentistry.
Instead of going straight into private practice upon graduation, I chose a public health residency program which allowed me to work with 20+ dentists, gaining invaluable experience and insight. I saw how a variety of dentists related to their patients, which helped me learn how to meet my patients where they are, allow them to feel heard, and better help them understand their unique oral health journey. It also shaped my clinical skills as I gained a very sharp attention to detail. After completing residency, I was able to learn directly under my dad who has built a 38-year legacy of cultivating and maintaining long-lasting relationships with his patients. Those six years we worked together were such a joy for me and it was really special to have the dynamic to learn from his experiences and for me to show him some of the new trends in technology and dentistry.
Born and raised in Selah, Dr. Kyle graduated from Selah High School in 2008 as class valedictorian. He went on to the University of Washington in Seattle for both his undergraduate and dental school degrees.
After completing a one-year residency program at the Union Gospel Mission in Yakima, Dr. Kyle remained there as a resident advisor, serving patients and teaching new resident dentists.
Continuing his education through the world-renowned Kois Center, along with his active involvement in a local peer-based study club, drives Dr. Kyle to the cutting edge of complex dental care, including cosmetic, implant, reconstructive dentistry, and oral systemic health integrations. He has developed advanced skills and a passion for patient care that guide him every day; whether he is restoring someone’s smile after their teeth have been damaged by a health disorder, replacing teeth lost due to trauma, or helping a patient undergoing extensive cancer treatments.
Out of the office, Dr. Kyle loves spending time with his wife, Marguerite, and their two sons, Hugh and Wesley. He also enjoys baseball, barbecuing oysters, skiing, traveling, UW football, and golfing.
Dr. Kyle was honored to publish one of his most rewarding and complex cases in a nationwide dental publication called The Compendium.
“I love giving patients a comfortable and enjoyable dental experience, focused on helping them enjoy a beautiful, healthy smile.”
When I was 17 years old, I realized I wanted to spend my life helping people. That began my journey to dentistry. But more than just fixing teeth, I wanted to dedicate myself to impacting lives. That door flew wide open when, following graduation from dental school, I had the privilege to serve those less fortunate through public health. I learned so much during that time about how heart-driven care combined with head-driven dentistry can deliver life-changing smile care.
Now in private practice and married with two small children, I get the opportunity to implement everything I've learned along the way as I seek to treat my patients the way I’d love for my little ones to be treated. That means delivering clinical expertise by staying on the cutting-edge of training, techniques, and technology. It also means I’m focused on connecting with and caring for every patient in a highly personal and deeply compassionate manner.

I’m a proud Yakima native, where my family has called home for the past four generations and counting. I feel a deep connection to this community, and it’s truly an honor to care for my neighbors and friends in the place I love most. Throughout my career, I’ve enjoyed every aspect of general dentistry, but I have a special passion for oral pathology. I’m fascinated and inspired by the incredible advancements in diagnostic technology and treatment which allow us to catch and address conditions early, sometimes even saving lives.
My approach to dentistry centers on caring for the whole person, not just their smile. I believe in taking time to educate my patients about the powerful link between oral health and overall wellness. My goal is always to offer a supportive environment where each person feels heard, informed, and empowered when it comes to their care.
A graduate of Eisenhower High School, Dr. King went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Puget Sound and continued on at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. Upon graduation, she returned to the Yakima Valley where she has been in private practice for over 25 years.
Dr. King's dedication extends beyond the dental chair and she has long been active in both professional and community organizations. She has served on the YMCA Board and the Washington State Dental Association’s DentPAC Board, volunteered her time as secretary of St. Paul Cathedral School’s PTA, co-chair of the Elephant Ear Booth (she proudly holds the secret recipe!), and parent committee chair for Boy Scout Troop 268. Most recently, she joined Sunrise Rotary to continue giving back to our community.
When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. King enjoys spending time in the kitchen trying new recipes - much to her family’s amusement, since they rarely see the same dish twice!
I have been going to Washut Family Dentistry for over 14 years. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. They feel like family even though I only see them a few times a year. The office is incredibly clean and welcoming. I strongly suggest this dental practice to everyone!
